I have to admit I'm having fun working on this, at first it frustrated me because the sketches weren't looking like me and I seem to have trouble drawing mustaches but I picked one that I like and now am cleaning it up so I can paint it in photoshop.

Practice

I spent this past sunday at home drawing and these are some of the better peices I did. My shading is still horroable. but only way to get better is by drawing.

Story Telling

Thumbnails and doodles

I have a idea for some animation of a bear going to a counter and picking up a hug honey jar. Spent lunch thumb nailing out the key poses and line of action. I want to make sure that the pose is readable and clear as a silhouette before spending the time drawing the whole character. The doodles is a bear and a nerd. Enjoy!

Spent the day with my wife's family on the front porch, talking and drawing. Trying to learn new art materials and to not worry about the end result just yet but to work fast and get the image down on paper. Enjoy!

Sketch Dump

Well it's been too long since I posted anythin here and I can see the cobwebs are getting outta control. He he, so I'm posting some pages from my sketchbook, there mostly copys from Tom Bancrofts book on character design and from Chris Sanders new sketchbook. Been doing some soul searching lately and well I've come up with a few truths. One: Im a procrastinater ( hey I'm a artist not a speller)
Two: I am not passionate about animation, it's true I have always talked about art and animation intelectually but I don't draw everyday and I don't carry a sketchbook with me every where. I used too back in highschool but dreams are fragil and not everyone is strong enough to keep theres alive. I know that mine where crushed and I whent into something else just to have the person that crushed them tell me to follow my dream. ( Yeah I know what a mind fuck)
Three: I use the past as a cructh as to why I dont create art anymore.
Four: I am afraid to fail/afraid of sucess.

So these are things that I know I have to work on. In the past I have been so caught up in making this blog and my otherone, so professional that I have been straggling my creativity. I now am not worried about who sees this, cause know one does. It's all mine. I can do whatever I like (following the terms and agreements of blogger and google) hehe So lets get to the doodles.
